Ribeirinha School Center Project
Municipality of Trancoso

Our company’s portfolio gains new prominence with the presentation of the execution project for the Ribeirinha School Center in Trancoso. This project reflects our commitment to creating educational spaces that combine architectural functionality with respect for accessibility standards and landscape integration.
Context and Need
The proposed building arises from the need to provide preschool education in the Municipality of Trancoso with adequate infrastructure, aiming to strengthen the current school network. The project focuses on the construction of a new building on vacant land, with the objective of creating two new activity rooms. The intervention is justified by the requirement for spaces that guarantee efficient circulation of students, educators, and staff, while simultaneously ensuring the rational use of energy resources and strict compliance with current legislation, especially the General Building Regulations (RGEU) and accessibility standards (Decree-Law No. 163/2006).

Summary of the Project Completed
The building takes on a rectangular planimetric form, characterized by a light and permeable volume with a regular height of 4.25 meters. The architecture takes advantage of orthogonal planes that create internal courtyards for the manipulation of natural light, featuring cantilevered roofs. With a gross construction area of 686.21 m², the project unfolds on a single floor, facilitating the absence of altimetric differences in the interior.
The functional program encompasses several specialized areas, most notably:
- Educational Areas: Two activity rooms, computer lab, multipurpose room, and rest room.
- Services and Support: Dining hall for 50 people, equipped kitchen for receiving meals, educators’ office, support office, and changing room.
- Technical Infrastructure: Technical rooms for air conditioning, electrical panels, fire safety, and computer lab.
- Exterior and Sustainability: Landscape architectural project for the redesign of plant species and leveling of leisure areas.
In terms of finishing, an external thermal insulation system (type “capoto”) painted white was used, along with fiber cement panels in specific areas and anodized aluminum window frames with thermal break and double glazing. The project ensures integration with the existing public electricity, sanitation, and telecommunications networks on site.
