Project implementation plan for the Ferreirim School Complex
Municipality of Sernancelhe

Introduction
We highlight the preliminary study for the Ferreirim School Complex, an architectural and engineering project that reflects our commitment to creating modern, functional educational spaces fully adapted to the needs of new generations in the Municipality of Sertânia.
Context and Need
The project arises as a direct response to the reorganization of the municipal education network and the anticipated closure of several elementary schools in the municipality. The central need of the intervention focuses on concentrating resources in a single, excellent infrastructure capable of accommodating 120 students (40 in kindergarten and 80 in the first cycle), guaranteeing the continuous improvement of learning conditions and the well-being of the school community.

Summary of the Project Completed
The proposal materializes in a single-story building, organized into five distinct volumes with specific functions, strategically positioned to suit the site’s configuration. The spatial organization was planned to separate public service areas from restricted-use areas, ensuring the safety and privacy of students and staff.
Key program and construction highlights include:
- Educational Sectors: Two activity rooms for preschool and four classrooms for the 1st cycle (primary school), all equipped with water points and support benches. The complex also includes a library/study and reading room.
- Common Facilities: A cafeteria with a capacity of 125 seats, a fully equipped kitchen with refrigeration and storage areas, and a sports pavilion with changing rooms equipped with separate hygiene circuits (clean/dirty feet).
- Comfort and Sustainability: The building prioritizes natural lighting and cross ventilation, using internal doors with glass panel transoms to optimize aeration. The covered area functions as a common space for recreational activities in any weather condition.
- Construction Aspects: Double walls with thermal insulation, zinc roofing, and the use of polycarbonate panels in the sports hall to maximize luminosity. Flooring varies between epoxy paint in the classrooms, linoleum in circulation areas, and non-slip flooring in wet areas.
- Outdoor Spaces: Inclusion of isolated enclosures for each educational level, landscaped areas with tree species for shade, and a playground with synthetic flooring made from recycled rubber.
The project was planned to be completed within twelve months, resulting in an infrastructure that rigorously meets the required accessibility and efficiency standards.
